Apple Watch 'Flight' spot highlights cellular functionality with airborne acrobatics

Apple has released a new video for the Apple Watch Series 4 highlighting the freedom the cellular model provides to its users without requiring a nearby iPhone, by showing a runner whisked into the air and transported to the middle of a lake.
Published early on Wednesday to Apple's YouTube channel for the United Kingdom, the video titled "Flight" starts with a runner on the side of the road following a path given by her Apple Watch. She is taken to a woodland and up a hill, before being carried into the sky by the wind.
Following a period of airborne acrobatics, the fitness enthusiast is dropped into water, which turns out to be the middle of a lake surrounded by mountains and trees. The actor receives then declines an incoming call on the Apple Watch before surveying the view, and starts swimming to shore.
The tagline of the ad spot is "The freedom of cellular," referencing the ability of the cellular-equipped Apple Watch variants to take calls wherever there is cellular service.
According to Creative Review, the spot was directed by Jonathan Glazer, and features champion skydiver and America's Got Talent contestant Inka Tiitto.
The commercial is the latest in a string of videos for the Apple Watch, which typically focuses on the fitness credentials for the device. In 2018 Apple produced a trio of ads challenging users to "Close your Rings" on the Apple Watch by exercising throughout the day, while another featured a man running into clones of himself as part of a campaign titled "There's a better you in you."

Mane and Keita's amateur acrobatics, Little Red Lovren and other moments missed from Liverpool's Bayern Munich meeting

The return of Champions League football failed to live up to its heavyweight billing as Liverpool were held to a goalless draw by Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.
Liverpool enjoyed the best of the game's chances but found a stubborn opposition in front of them as Niko Kovac's side exerted all their experience to shutout what is usually a rampant Reds at home in Europe's premier competition.
As ever, there were some interesting subplots you might have missed during Tuesday's game.

To their immense credit, the Bayern Munich supporters ensured both ends of the ground created the atmosphere on Tuesday as the travelling Germans made their voices heard all night.
They also lent their support to an ongoing fight from football fans in England who are continuing to try and lower the cost of matchday tickets.
The two sets of supporters spread the signs across both sections of the lower Anfield Road end just after the 50-minute mark to rapturous applause from the rest of the crowd as both teams faced off in the  Champions League .
"Twenty is plenty."
"The greed knows no limits!"
The message was clear.
Little Red Lovren
Dejan Lovren has been conspicuous by his absence since he trudged off with a hamstring injury at Wolves on January 7.
The Croatian defender hasn't featured since and unwittingly contributed to a defensive problem that caused Fabinho to be forced into a makeshift centre-back role once more on Tuesday.
Lovren hasn't been seen on a pitch for over six weeks, but the defender was spotted in the crowd on Tuesday, with the BT Sport cameras picking him out for a few seconds of coverage.
The Liverpool star was seen wearing an unusual red cloak as he battled against the Anfield elements.

Naby Keita is still awaiting his first Liverpool goal, but the £52million midfielder thought he had a chance to put that statistic to bed when the ball popped up to him on the edge of his box, with his back to Manuel Neuer's net in the first half.
Rather than simply attempt to recycle possession, the skillful midfielder attempted the most outrageous of overheads from all of 22 yards, only to see the effort fall flat.
Moments later, Sadio Mane attempted to show his team-mate how it's done as he latched on to a cross from Keita at the back post.

Again, Mane would come up short with own acrobatic effort as his overhead sailed well wide of Neuer's left-hand post.
Not their greatest efforts, we're sure.
A rare shutout
Tuesday night witnessed the rarest of Anfield occurrences - A zero next to Liverpool's name on the full-time scoreboard.
Only one other time this season have the Reds failed to find the net at home and you have to go all the way to back to October to find it.
Back then, it was title-rivals Manchester City who ensured the Reds were kept off the scoresheet as the two Premier League giants played out a goalless affair.
The fact that only the German and English champions have halted Liverpool at Anfield this season shows just how unerring they are in front of goal.
